How to Set Up Outlook Express 5.0 for Windows to Send and Receive Email
  1. Open Outlook Express.

  2. In the Display Name field, type your name.

  3. Click the Next button.
  4. In the E-mail address field, type your full email address (e.g., johndoe@yourdomain.com).

  5. Click the Next button.

  6. Click the arrow box on the My incoming mail server is a pop-up list and choose POP3.
  7. In the Incoming mail (POP, IMAP or HTTP) server field, type your Incoming mail server (POP) (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com).
  8. In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server field, type your ISP's Outgoing mail server (SMTP) (e.g., mail.your-isp.com).
  9. Note: You can use mail.yourdomain.com as your outgoing mail server, but it is highly recommended that you use your ISP's outgoing mail server to send messages. Not only will it transmit the messages to the server faster, but if you use mail.yourdomain.com for outgoing messages, you will be charged for bandwidth usage.
  10. Click the Next button.

  11. In the Account name field, type your email account name (e.g., johndoe@yourdomain.com).
  12. In the Password field, type your email password.
  13. Note: Your password is case sensitive! Make sure CAPS LOCK is off when typing it.
  14. Click the Next button.
  15. Click the Finish button.
